Privacy policy
What data we process, why we need it – and what rights you have. Clear and without small print.
This is a translation for convenience; the German version is legally binding.
The essentials in brief
- No cookies for analytics or advertising; anonymous visitor statistics with self-hosted Umami.
- Fonts are hosted on our own server – no requests to Google.
- No embedded maps: Google Maps only opens when you click a link.
- We use the details you provide via forms and e-mail solely to deal with your request.
1. What this is about
In this privacy policy, we inform you about which personal data we process in connection with this website and our services, for what purpose we do so, and what rights you have.
We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) in its revised version, in force since 1 September 2023 (revFADP), and with the Data Protection Ordinance (DPO). Where applicable in individual cases, we also observe the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Controller
The party responsible for processing your personal data is:
LivaFS GmbH
Industriestrasse 45
4147 Aesch BL, Switzerland
Phone: 044 505 25 99
E-mail: info@livafs.ch
For questions about data protection, you can reach us at the e-mail address given above.
3. Contact form, e-mail and phone
When you contact us via the contact form, by e-mail or by phone, we process the details you provide – for example your name, company, e-mail address, phone number, the topic of interest and the content of your message. Mandatory fields in the form are marked; all other information is voluntary.
We use this data exclusively to answer your enquiry, to prepare a quote for you and – if an order results – to carry it out. We retain it for as long as necessary for these purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations.
The contact form, callback form and quote calculator are transmitted in encrypted form (HTTPS) via our hosting provider Cloudflare to our own server. This server is operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in a data centre in Helsinki (Finland, EU); from a Swiss perspective, the EU is considered to provide an adequate level of data protection.
E-mails to us are handled by our e-mail provider Infomaniak Network SA, with data centres in Switzerland.
4. Job applications
If you apply to us, we process your documents and the information you provide exclusively for the application process. Only the people involved in the selection have access to them.
If you are not hired, we delete your documents no later than three months after the process has been completed – unless you agree that we may keep them for future vacancies.
5. Hosting and server log files
This website has no user accounts. It is delivered via Cloudflare Pages by Cloudflare, Inc. (San Francisco, USA), whose global network serves the pages from a data centre near you.
Each time the website is accessed, technically necessary data is automatically recorded in server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file accessed and amount of data transferred
- website from which you came to us (referrer)
- browser and operating system used
We need this data to deliver the website, to ensure its security and stability and to fend off attacks. We do not combine it with other data and do not analyse it for marketing purposes. In accordance with its own privacy terms, Cloudflare retains such connection data only for as long as necessary for operation and security.
Our hosting provider may also process data outside Switzerland, in particular in the USA. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; in addition, the standard contractual clauses of Cloudflare's data processing agreement apply.
6. Cookies and visitor statistics
We do not use cookies for analytics, tracking or advertising purposes and do not use services such as Google Analytics. There are no social media plugins, embedded videos or maps on this website.
To improve our website, we compile anonymous visitor statistics using the open-source software Umami, which we operate ourselves on our server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Helsinki (Finland, EU). Umami sets no cookies, does not store complete IP addresses and does not create profiles across different websites. Recorded data includes, for example, pages viewed, the referring website (such as a search engine), device type, browser, country and clicks on phone, e-mail and enquiry links. The data is not passed on to third parties. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, your visit is not recorded.
Company recognition (B2B): When a page is accessed, our hosting provider Cloudflare determines which network operator the IP address belongs to. If it belongs to a company's network, we store only the company name of the network together with the pages viewed, so that we can look after business clients in a targeted way. The IP address itself is not stored; visits from private internet and mobile networks are not recorded. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in acquiring business clients; you may object to this processing at any time (an e-mail is sufficient). If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, nothing is recorded.
Content personalisation: To show you relevant information, the website displays the nearest location based on your approximate region (canton, determined by Cloudflare) and – if you access it from a company network – hints for the matching industry (e.g. property management or industry). This is evaluated only at the moment of the request; neither your IP address nor the company name is transmitted to us or stored. In addition, your browser locally remembers the service you viewed last to pre-fill the quote calculator. With “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” this personalisation is switched off.
Callback, quote calculator and contact form: Your details (name, company, phone, e-mail, property details, message) and the page through which you reached us are transmitted to our server and stored there so that we can process your enquiry. The data is used for this purpose only and is deleted or anonymised once the matter is concluded, or after 24 months at the latest, unless there is a statutory retention obligation.
Our hosting provider Cloudflare may set technically necessary cookies, such as the “__cf_bm” cookie to protect against automated access (bots). You can decide at any time in your browser settings whether and which cookies you allow.
7. Fonts
The fonts used on this website (Bricolage Grotesque, Instrument Sans and Caveat) are stored on our own server and loaded from there. No connection to Google Fonts or other font providers is established when you visit our website.
8. Google Maps and external links
We do not embed any maps. For route planning to our locations, you will find links to Google Maps. Only when you click such a link are you forwarded to Google – from then on, Google's privacy terms apply (Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC, USA). The same applies to links to other external websites.
Phone and e-mail links simply open the corresponding application on your device.
9. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your data and do not pass it on for advertising purposes. We only disclose personal data where necessary for the purposes stated – for example to IT and hosting service providers who work on our behalf and are contractually bound to data protection –, where you have given your consent, or where we are legally obliged to do so.
10. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The website is delivered in encrypted form via HTTPS.
11. Your rights
Within the scope of applicable data protection law, you have in particular the right
- to be informed whether and which personal data we process about you,
- to have incorrect or incomplete data corrected,
- to request the deletion of your data, unless there is a retention obligation,
- to object to processing and to withdraw any consent given with effect for the future,
- to request that your data be handed over in a common electronic format, provided the legal requirements are met.
An e-mail to info@livafs.ch is sufficient for your request. To ensure that we do not disclose data to unauthorised persons, we may ask you to prove your identity.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC): www.edoeb.admin.ch.
12. Changes
We will amend this privacy policy if our website, our processes or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies in each case.
